George
has been painting most of his adult life. Initially his interest lay in the
European impressionistic style of oil painting and pastels. More recently
he has developed his flair for botanical and ornithological subject matter
where he has started to expand his skills in watercolour and coloured
pencil mediums. Even though he has been mostly a self taught artist, as many now
famous artists before him, he attended, over the years, several art workshops in
various art schools of Sydney's North Shore. Furthermore, his watercolour skills
were enhanced by attending art workshops with one of Australia's leading
botanical artist, Helen Fitzgerald. Living in Jindabyne, in the Snowy Mountains
region, now offers endless opportunities for his botanical and
ornithological art works. |
